plans plans

I think we just need to stay strong to our ideas and believe they can work! The Rosie Lea Tea House sounds wicked and we all love tea! Gardening Aprons, Tea towls, Seed packets/kits etc then the plans themselves.. so people can make their own tea at home?
Maybe it would be fun to sell the skills needed to take care of your plant, rather than the plant itself? selling on time instead of commodity? i dont know, it would add something more to our tea house if we could look at the profit in a more interesting way, like we were saying befor, making friends and learn from building!

I think after our meeting with Adamina on friday we were all feeling abit confused about where our project fitted into this alotment thing, and we werent sure wether or how to tell adamina what we had in mind? After you guys left i went back up because id forgot something and spoke to adamina again, i told her more of what we were planning, a social space within the garden. She seemed really up for it, and got really excited about it aswell! i dont think we have anything to worry about. As long as we have her to talk to the dean through that we will have alot more liberty with what we can do. Shes the grown up talking on our behalf!

Ive been collecting a list of local buisnesses in the area that im gona contact for materials etc once we've confirmed a name and logo, Also my grandma is part of an organisation that provide grants for schools building gardens, 300 pounds a time, so im gona try and get in contact with them about this aswell!

Also planting lots, i think like you said hannah herbs and tea plants are a good idea! Plus they grow quickly and smell delicious!

Got an Email from the guy who built the structures today ....

Hi Rosanna,

sorry its taken me this long to get back to you... I would love it if you were interested in working with my mobile green house but I am afraid that unless I am very lucky all of my work is leaving the site at the end of this month. I will be asking Camberwell for an extension but I don't know if this will be possible. I will let you know if they give me more time on the site.

all the best
Francis

Hannah and me were saying last night it would be good if we could all post up our ideas of what this project could and should be and also our concerns for it? Then we can all get abit clearer an idea of where we are with it!

Alsoo beth get a phone!! :D

yess. yeah we need to design the building, not too detailed though as we dont know what wood we are going to find. but crates for the floor, doors for the surfaces etc. and we need to make/design the roof. i've started plating herbs but wont be able to bring them back to london, so i've been given some seeds we can plant.
Rosie-lea nice. I like The rosie-lea tea house and The thread and spade.
I think were still building a space? I think it would still be nice to build a communal space/tea house. I really like the idea of building a round house, like our original idea. With quirky furniture and handmade cushions ect. I think it would be nice to plant around the house aswell, as a separate thing from the allotment. I want to get involved the allotment also but I don't think we can use that as our main idea because theres so many other people involved that thave already put more into it. I don't have a skype account but will set one up and could talk later. Think we need to all chat about our ideas again soon so we have a clearer idea of what we're doing. I think we need to get started on building soon aswell because we won't have that long after easter and think our ideas are quite big! I've started planting veg, herbs and salad which can be used for the allotment/ the house. If were still building the house i think we need to decide on building materials and a structure soon and start collecting the materials, the next few weeks would be a good time to do it because we can't get into wilsons rd. If were building a tea house a lot of the plants around the house could be things like fennel, camomile and mint for tea? and people could buy them and take them home.

hey, yeah those fuel bricks look easy enough to make. we need to find out whether wilson road is in a smoke free area as well. are we just doing the garden thing now or are we still building? i think even if we are doing the garden thing, we need to have our own thing/project/workshop related to the garden because it's not just ours anymore X

Camberwell Carrot Co-operative????

If we are going to build some kind of controlled fire/oven, it would be great to try and make some of these fuel bricks. We could go down to the workshop in 3D and ask them for their old sawdust, apparently these burn for ages without too much smoke

Im coming round to the Camberwell Carrot idea, its Tongue in cheek and we are art students after all??

skype?

HALLO lovleys!

When are yee up for skyping ? tonite of monday night?

I just brought this book, its really good!

any more thoughts on names? i want to start contacting buisnesses for donations for our cause!
